The Emotional Spectrum Depression - Repression - Expression
COMMON RESPONSE: Many people believe that the opposite of depression
is happiness. A more accurate reading of the situation is that, in depression, one suffers from exhaustion due to the
amount of energy directed to repressing ANY emotion. The energy needed to re-press (and then deeply de-press) ANY emotion
is always greater than the original energy that was not allowed to be appropriately ex-pressed. in a timely manner.
No wonder fatigue sets in. This fatigue is often mis-named depression and mis-interpreted as sadness. Since happiness
cannot be experienced in an energy deficient state, it is only one of many ex-pressive emotions that may be expressed when
one stops re-pressing their emotions.
